How to Join

New members are always welcome at City of Canberra Squadron.

Who can join?

Boys 8 years and older are eligible to join Canberra Squadron. Canberra squadron meets at Canberra Airport on Tuesday nights. If this doesn't suit you, there may be another squadron that does.

We encourage new members to come along for three weeks (for free) before they commit to joining the squadron.

How to find us

We meet on Tuesdays (during school terms) from 7pm to 9pm at Canberra Aero Club, at Canberra Airport (map).

Costs

The following information is to give you some idea of the costs involved in being a member of Canberra Squadron.

Joining fee

The joining fee is $40

Weekly fees

The weekly cost is $5.

There is also the option of paying upfront at the start of the term. If you choose this option, the cost is $40 for the ten-week term.

These fees include most books for the education subjects, fees to Group (the central body that oversees all squadrons in NSW and the ACT) and some aero-modelling materials.

Flying

Cost varies.

Uniform

A new cadet uniform costs approximately $170. Second-hand uniforms are also available.

In addition, you will need to buy black leather shoes, if you don't own them already.
